According to the media, Windows 8 was horrible. Much like politics, certain media venues are pro or anti Microsoft/Apple/Google. One website will tell you they hate a product and another will tell you it is great. I’ve never seen this more so than with Windows 8. Apple and Google heavy advertised websites had already written how horrible Windows 8 was before it was ever released. It wasn’t that it was buggy, or slow, or didn’t work. It had evolved and apparently change is bad. You know, the bad change like when you go to trade in your old car for a new car that has better safety and better gas mileage, but the radio and a/c buttons are in different places. Oh my, this new car is horrible.
For everything negative that was said about Windows 8, it still sold more copies in its first 3 months than all current versions of the Mac OSX COMBINED. A statistic that the Apple heavy media doesn’t like to publish along with those articles about “how horrible Windows 8 is.”
For all of us currently using Windows 8, there appears to be good news. According to sources at Microsoft, the new version of Windows 10 will be a FREE upgrade for all users of Windows 8. I would expect to see more of this type of thing in the future from Microsoft. Their new CEO has already stated that Microsoft will be focusing more on mobile devices and services. The changes under the hood for the new Windows 10 will allow that vision to take place.
